3 ways to transform your ‘happy’ workers into passionate advocates
How can there be a risk with happy employees? You would think if people are content, things would be easy breezy. Not quite.

According to Rob Markey, a partner with Bain & Company, happiness alone is not a good outcome for a company's bottom line.
"We've found that the only route to employee happiness that also benefits shareholders is through a sense of fulfillment resulting from an important job done well. We should aspire not just to make employees ‘happy,’ but to do so by helping them achieve great things," Markey says.
Among the ways to get results:
- Give managers information to help people serve customers better
- Require simpler, more frequent employee surveys
- Share direct feedback
Note that these tips don't apply exclusively to forward-faciing clients.
Markey reminds us that when workers are happy and fulfilled, “They stay longer, work harder, work more creatively, and find ways to go the extra mile. They bring you more great employees.”
Sounds good to me. How about you?
