Speaking well is vital for any business leader. How can you lead if you struggle to put two sentences together? When you realize it’s all about relaxing, public speaking is easier than you think.
Dan Rockwell, aka The Leadership Freak, offers three pointers that can help anyone who has to give a presentation. These tips are even useful if you’re having a conversation with a group of people. Even seasoned speakers occasionally get overwhelmed or anxious, so don’t panic. It’s normal!
Rockwell writes, “Speaking ability enhances leadership potential. Public platforms provide opportunities to shape, direct, and motivate organizations.”
His suggestions include preparing your remarks for your audience and what they want to learn, and keeping facts and figures on PowerPoint slides to a minimum.
